What is your role at Oaks?

My role at Oaks is split between the Business Support and Strategy Development departments. I provide support for our clients through researching appropriate and new funding sources, writing grant applications and supporting our clients to successfully deliver their community activities. From a strategy perspective, I am involved in research, data analysis and report preparation.

How would you summarise your career and experience to date?

I began working for Oaks in October 2010. During this period I have developed extensive knowledge and experience in a wide range of areas of the sport industry. This has built on my background in sport and physical education developed through the completion of an MSc in Physical Activity and Health at Loughborough University.

What do you think is unique about Oaks?

The team's extensive experience across all areas of sport and sport business, our personalised approach and genuine love of sport.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing the world of sport in the next 5 years?

Simply engaging more young people in sport and physical activity is a growing concern, particularly in the UK. It is vital that we capitalise on the legacy of the London Olympic Games in order to develop the next generation of Olympic champions.

What is your favourite sporting moment?

As you can see from my picture, my favourite sporting moment came when Birmingham City won the Carling Cup beating Arsenal 2-1 at Wembley! As a Birmingham fan you don't get many moments of glory so it will be a match I'll never forget.

What is your personal greatest sporting achievement?

I think it has to be representing Loughborough University badminton team for my first BUCS match. It was a great experience to play badminton for Loughborough through my four years of study.

If you get any free time, how do you like to use it?

I regularly go the gym, swim, play badminton and watch Birmingham every saturday.
