Do you want to join a growing organisation that helps socially-minded organisations achieve incredible things? Are you interested in building a successful career in fundraising?
At Oaks, we challenge organisations to think differently about their structure, purpose and future. We help them to explore and realise their fundraising potential and generate new and diverse revenues. You could be part of that journey, through not only owning your own area of work, but working alongside the senior leadership team to collectively meet the needs of our clients.
We work with hundreds of organisations around the world, including Laureus Sport for Good, UEFA, Carer’s Trust, the National Brain Appeal, the Lawn Tennis Association, and Special Olympics GB. Our team has collectively raised millions of £s for these organisations from an ever-growing list of trusts, foundations, major donors and corporates; enabling our partners to reach more vulnerable people and ultimately change lives across the world.
Our growing team combines sector-specific experience and skills with "home-grown" energy and drive; giving us diversity of thought, a fresh perspective, and a constant focus on innovation. We are invested in the growth and development of every individual because if they thrive, our work thrives.
We are looking for an experienced trusts and foundations fundraiser, with experience of having secured minimum five-figure grants, to join our growing fundraising team and work with a variety of sport, education and charity causes around the world.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage a number of accounts simultaneously across all sectors that we work in
Identify new grant opportunities from trusts, foundations and other institutions that are suitable for our clients and their award-winning community activities
Through research, create suitable pipelines with a range of opportunities that our clients are eligible for
Secure these grant opportunities through responding to requests for proposals, drafting formal cases for support and applications, and nurturing new relationships with funders
Develop and manage successful relationships with our clients by advising them on the most suitable grant opportunities that will deliver exceptional satisfaction levels and provide a significant return on their investment
Train and develop individuals within our team to be able to develop their own trusts and foundations skills
Core skills and experience
We are looking for an individual who would be a natural addition to our energetic, purpose-driven team: independent and innovative thinkers who enjoy identifying new opportunities, developing high quality and persuasive prose.
We are looking for:
High quality writing, with the ability to compose compelling content and adapt this to suit different audiences
Excellent account management skills and confidence in developing relationships with a range of audiences
Efficiency – the ability to multitask and produce work to tight deadlines – and ability to independently prioritise between tasks with overlapping deadlines
Strong communications skills at all levels and the ability to give information clearly
Excellent time management skills
Proactive nature and creative thinker
